It's really kind of hard to talk about drag without mentioning Bugs Bunny. He's appeared in drag so many times that it's impossible to keep track of.

Officially making his debut in 1940's "A Wild Hare," Bugs first appeared in drag a year later in "Elmer's Pet Rabbit." The surrealistic and subversive nature of cartoons means that Bugs's drag could get around the Hays Code while all other forms of drag were banned from appearing on screen.

There's actually a lot of ways to look at and analyze Bugs's use of drag. One of the most notable things to take away from it is that Bugs never used drag in and of itself as a gag, it was always a clever way to get out of whatever situation he found himself stuck in.

Bugs frequently used drag as a mean of seduction and using Elmer Fudd's heterosexuality against him, but also as a way of being under-estimated. A soft, pretty woman could never be dangerous.

Bugs's most famous outing in drag, "What's Opera, Doc?" poked fun at the snobbery around opera and took "the finest art" down a notch.

I feel she is more than just a regular domestic cat, a serval because of her long legs. The stripes on their back kinda look like DD markings especially around the legs. Also yellow

Mainly because I saw this one furry pic on Twitter that had her as a goat and it’d been canon to me ever since, also most people draw the F DD legs as hooves so perfect. I specifically give her a bell because it’s reminds me of the hc she’s always fidgeting or clicking a pen so the bell gives that fidget. Also for her little form being a lamb is very symbolic with the fact she follows the solver blindly and is ultimately lead to a slaughter for her loyalty. Also the action of goats head butting people is funny and J head butting people would be funny.

Since maned wolves are like their own thing I thought it would be fitting to make her something that is mistaken for literally everything but itself, to show the trickery. Some people think they are kinda scary for their long limbs and look kind of uncanny, so perfect. Also with her being a predator that could easily hunt the main three/four.

The same way Minori and Sigma have some parallels too, except Minori's more rough around the edges, so instead of being a rabbit she's a hare. More fierce and whatnot.

I've always had Thistle in mind as a goat-lamb-sheep-ram sort of deal. It's the way he can come off as cute and non-threatening but the moment he switches up he's a real wolf in sheep's clothing. Which isn't a unique metaphor, but they're a classic for a reason heh.

She was sat at her desk in Dr. Bellum's lad coding for new program. She was excited as this was going to be used in one of Dr. Bellum's new invasions tomorrow. The door slide open. "Oh! Hi." She mumbled, looking over her shoulder. It was The Mechanic. "Hello, love, what's this?" She huffed, gesturing to the screen. "Codding." Giorria whispered to her. Some greasy flying off her reach. "Be careful." She warned. "Oh come on, it's fine -" she poked the screen, causing it to blue screen. "No no no no no!" Giorria shouted...

Three months out of six were lost. "WHAT THE HELL?!" Giorria shouted at her, which quickly snowballed into a screaming match, stopping only as professor Maelstrom came in. "She deleted half of my codding that Dr. Bellum wanted for tomorrow!" Giorria shouted on the verge of tears. Maelstrom sighed and took her to her room.

"It was an accident Giorria. Please calm down." He hummed turning and walking out.

How was this fair! It wasn't even her fault! The Mechanic shouldn't have touched her computer! And... was that the time! Shoot! She had training. Giorria sprung up and rushed out of her room, wiping away her tears. She made it to the gym. "Hi, Coach Brunt! Um... who am I against?" She asked, putting her bag down. "Sorry, pumpkin, you're against Tigress." She told the young girl in a sympathetic voice. "Oh..." Giorria muttered, walking up to he floor. "It's a light match! I don't wanna see none of your claws' Tigress!" Coach Brunt shouted. Giorria slipped on her mask.

It started, El Topo and Le Chevre were both sat at a bench as her and Tigress started the match, immediately tigress was going far harder then needed! Giorria tried... but of course, she was distracted. She tried the push back, but of course, Tigress was beating her and won by the end of the match.

They both went to the benches near El Topo and Le Chevre. "What the hell! You went way harder than needed!" Giorria told her she was clearly annoyed. "Oh, please, bugs bunny. Everyone else it able to take more than that." She huffed, gesturing to el topo and le chevre as she took off her mask. "I... well coach Brunt siad-"

"Ha! Seriously? Coach Brunt wants you to push yourself, and you can't even do that!" She huffed, glaring at the now unmasked child. "The only reason you're here is because you're a kid who got lucky. You aren't meant to be here." She sneered, both men looked at her in shock, Le chevre looking especially pissed... it hit her hard...

She stood up and walked away. Once out of the gym, she ran off her room, not wanting to cry or lash out in front of them. Meanwhile El Topo and Le Chevre gave out to Tigress for saying such a thing, not knowing how it truly made her feel.

Bishop looked around campus. "Now, where is that little hare?" He murmured, walking around, going into Countess Cleo's office. "Hey Dash, have you seen Giorria? Normally, she's around you or Neal, but he said he hadn't seen her." Dash just shrugged. "She was meant to be here an hour ago, but Cleo said she's just resting, pulled yet another all-nighter coding." He told Bishop, rolling his hand towards the girl's room, with a small sigh. "Uh-huh..." Bishop hummed, glancing down the hall, it's rare for her to stay alone, especially if it means missing out on activities. He looked back at a curious-looking Dash. "Oh! Thanks dash." He waved goodbye going to her room. "Oh, Lily! Come on out, Nigel's waiting for us." He called out, knocking on her door.

Giorria paused for a moment, debating with herself. She's been looking forward to going back to London with Bishop and Roundabout. Especially since Bishop promised he'd take her to the new butterfly gardens at the zoo. "OK, I'm coming. Just give me a second!" She spoke through the door to him, her voice still a bit shaky. He tilted his head when she came out to him. "Hey sweetheart, don't you wanna take off your mask?" He asked gently, crouching to the younger girl's height with a gentle smile.

"No thanks." Shaking her head, she walked by happily to where the cleaners normally were. "OK, kid." He hummed concern swelling in his mind as she skipped past, he stood back up, whipping off his pants and following her. He started walking with her, expecting some rambling about her various interests or what had happened throughout the week, but she was quiet... he'd tell Nigel about that later, he thought.

She put her backpack into the boot and sat in comfortably. She smiled and now sat in the comfortable car, in the back as Nigel insisted on it for safety. Adya, who'd normally let her ramble on and on about bugs and coding, was expecting her to start speaking, as she normally did. "You ok there, princess?" Adya asked softly, looking at her through the mirror, she shook her head. She didn't feel like talking right now, and Adya immediately took note.

They got to the drop-off point, someplace in the middle of nowhere, just inside England's borders. There was still a good hour of driving to do, Adya gave a small, strained smile to Georgia, and it was getting dark. "Hey, darling." Adya waved and came over to Nigel with a small yet noticeably nervous smile.

"Hello, love." Nigel hummed, pecking Adya's cheek, making him blush. "Hello Lily, how... oh." He watched her creep past him and throw her bag into the boot with a sniff. "Is she alright, Adya?" He asked, taking Adya's hands in his. "I don't think so... she won't tell me, but I don't wanna push the poor thing." He told Nigel, rubbing his thumb over the others' knuckles.

"OK... we'll figure this out, love," he murmured, sitting in the driver's seat, and Adya sat in the passenger seat. "Hey sweetheart, how was your day?" Nigel start. "It was fine." She shrugged off the question, not looking at anything in particular, seemingly lost in thought. "Alright, darling." He sighed, not wanting to push or argue with her. She was probably just tired... at least that's what Nigel told himself

The car ride was quiet, save for the jumbled whispers of the radio and the small sniffs of the young girl. When they got home, she went to her room and took off her mask. But she still felt overwhelmed. "Darling?" Nigel spoke through the door. "Come on, it's time to eat." He told her gently, watching her jump down from her bed and skip out and to the table. The TV was on, and it was loud on one random action move Adya seemed to be enjoying.

She sat and looked down at the pasta and chicken on her plate she ate some, but.

As the TV got louder, she got more and more overwhelmed the memories of Tigress' words replayed in her mind.

The TV screamed and one BANG of a gun pushed her over the edge.

She started crying...

Sobbing, to which Adya immediately turned off the TV, and Nigel knelt in front of her. "Darling, what's wrong? What happened?" He asked to which he was only met with two small arms wrapping around him as she sobbed. "There there, darling." Adya patted her back as she hugged Nigel.

Slowly, she calmed down, now softly hiccuping against Nigel's shoulder. "I... I'm sorry." She sniffed, pulling back, though Adya's hand stayed on her back. "It's ok, kid... what happened? You can tell us." Adya reassured she sniffed and wiped her hand, which was replaced with Nigel's. "I... The Mechanic came in, and she accidentally deleted three months of progress of m-my coding and-and then I-I had a match against Tigress, and she-she went so hard! Like-like she kept using her stupid claws when Coach Brunt said not to! And... and... she said I was just a kid who got lucky and... and I didn't belong there." She let a sob rack her bidy as Nigel wiped away her small tears. "I feel like... like she might be right." The poor girl sniffed, resting her forehead against Nigel's shoulder.

The two men looked up to each other. "Sweetheart. You do belong there, and here, with us, your family." Adya murmured, rubbing circles into her back. Nigel pulled Adya forward to him. "I need to call the rest of the Faculty, Adya, mind her for me." He whispered into the others' ear. "Yeah, yeah." He nodded looking to their little girl. "Come here, Lily."

He took Lily to the sitting room, setting down the plates of foods on the coffee table. "Don't mind that silly cat. Bet she has furballs for brains." Adya joked, making her giggle. "See!" He smiled, tickling her sides, making her sscreach in laughter. "There's my happy hare!" He smiled as she sat up. "OK, let's eat before traffic lights get off the phone and tell us to go to the kitchen."

i think that daeho would be a tabby cat, a lot of ppl headcanon him as a tiger bc of his name but i think it would be sooo cute if he was a kitty cat with a name meaning "big tiger" LOLLL. jungbae is like...... a puppy doggy to me. he's friendly and enthusiastic and loves the idea of hierarchies (like with his marine talk) and tries to seem tough occasionally, but he's also a big sweetie and kind and caring :3 idk what kind of dog he'd be though....... still undecided on that

i can kinda picture sangwoo being a kitty too ngl........ the way that he can be kinda aloof sometimes reminds me of a cat lol plus something abt the symbolism/imagery of him being a cat and gihun being a rat is. Ouugh. but also i feel like cats are kinda generic choices for furries so idk if i'm 100% decided on that or if i wanna go with something else. i've also considered making gihun himself a cat at different points and might still draw him as one lol, the idea of him being a black cat (an animal that's considered lucky in some cultures and unlucky in others) rlly appeals to me. i am very indecisive lmao.

my biggest/most favourite furry hc that i haven't drawn yet though is noeul being a hare!!! specifically a belgian hare!!!!!

she's VERY lagomorph coded to me. ig kinda bc she literally wears that bunny mascot costume in canon but also something abt her is just. yeah. definitely a lagomorph. i picked a hare instead of a rabbit bc hares are a little more Unhinged than rabbits imo and they have that kind of intense look in their eyes plus they're stronger and more lanky than rabbits, so i feel like they suited her a little more yknow? i feel like the juxtaposition of her being a prey animal who literally kills people for her job could be rlly cool too

+ one more note on furry au things. i think that stoat inho would make an active effort to disguise what species he is when he's in his frontman outfit, bc i guess in this au what species someone is could be a way of identifying them relatively easily. he probably tucks his tail in/ties it down and wears a mask with cat or dog-like pointed ears on it so that people don't know he's a stoat. hence why gihun wouldn't rlly be suspicious of him when he joins the games bc he just assumed that the frontman was either a cat or a dog, lol. i also think that inho would usually be a stoat with darker brown-ish fur naturally, but he dyes it a much more typical light brown/orange colour before joining the games as "youngil". hehehe

jungbae is such an important character and his death is going to rlly shape s3 and change gihun going forward imo, bc in a way he was one of the last pieces of hope gihun had to cling to and he was gihun's best friend...... and now that he's gone and died in a way that gihun might feel guilty abt or blame himself for........ i can imagine his death will be a defining part of the trajectory for s3. plus his interactions with gihun in s3 were genuinely so cute and sweet and he was a well-needed ray of sunshine and comedic relief in s2 when things were otherwise bleak, and personally i just find him very likeable and i love every scene with him in it, he has so much chemistry with everyone and he's so fun...... but then in a lot of fan content ppl rlly just have him there as an afterthought or don't even include him at all, and it makes me so sad. i've read so many fics where gihun moves on from his death kinda fast and forgives inho for it after like 3 hours and it always makes me a little mad even if the fic is otherwise good. like that's his best friend!!!! he's not just gonna be like "well you shouldn't have killed my best friend who i've known for 10+ years but you're hot so i forgive you it's fine :3" to inho. dgmw i love inhun but gihun is NOT gonna forgive him for killing jungbae ever, imo. he might end up sparing inho's life or allying with him but i don't think jungbae's death is something he'll move on from easily yknow. aiauauauaiaooihgh.

noeul is underrated for sliiightly more understandable reasons imo, bc i think the subplot with her hasn't rlly "taken off" properly in s2 and we're going to see more of her in action in s3, so i don't think her full potential as a character has been realised yet. but regardless she's still a very fascinating character to me and i love her so much. the way she's a good person in some contexts but a murderer in other contexts is so good.

i love how she can compartmentalise herself in that way and i loooove how player 246 joining the games is steadily breaking down the walls she'd built separating the parts of herself. she's been noeul the civilian, noeul the mascot actor, and noeul the soldier, but now all of those parts of herself are being collapsed into one and i find that so interesting. i'm so excited to see where they go with her in s3.

also i love how her subplot also gives us a glimpse into how the soldiers live and how in a way, they're just as much a part of the game and players in it as the actual players are. they're also given numbers and uniforms, have their personal belongings removed, can't communicate with the outside world, can be killed after making the slightest mistake, are violent towards one another, and are seen as cannon fodder by inho and the vips...... just like the players are. they're completely lacking in personal agency and aren't rlly given basic rights or respect. and inho is perfectly fine with sacrificing them to achieve his own goals. idk i find it rlly interesting how squid game makes the point that the guards are just as much pawns in and victims of the same viscious system that the players are stuck in. in the end it's all just disenfranchised oppressed people carrying out violence against other disenfranchised oppressed people for the entertainment of the wealthy who never have to get their own hands dirty. it's so. ouuugh. i'm not smart enough to know what to say abt it but there's something so fascinating there for sure and i rlly love how noeul's subplot explores that dynamic in more depth/shows it more openly
